Throughout the application journey we will provide you with key information (Policy Document, Insurance Product Information Document (IPID)) about our Kit and Personal Possessions Insurance product, electronically.

You can choose whether you'd like to receive your policy documents by paper or email in the application.

Our application tool can help you work out your Kit and Personal Possessions Insurance needs and will be based on the information you provide. You'll be able to tailor your cover through completing the application. We will not give you a personal recommendation and this should not be considered as advice.

By completing this application form, from your specified start date you will be entitled to Kit Start insurance which includes the following benefits:

Eligibility

To take out this policy online, it is a condition of the insurer’s liability under this policy that you declare the following:

  • You have not had any incidents in the last three years that resulted in damage to property, items being stolen or injury to yourself (regardless of blame and whether reported to an insurer)
  • You do not have any unspent convictions or prosecutions pending (other than motoring offences)
  • You have not been refused insurance or had terms imposed in respect of Kit, Personal Possessions and/or contents insurance

This product meets the demands and needs of someone who requires cover to protect:

  • A limited amount of kit, temporary issued kit and personal possessions in the event of loss, accidental damage or theft
  • Limited contents in Service Single Living Accommodation (Barrack)
  • Against liability arising from an agreement to occupy Service Single Living Accommodation

This application, the Terms of Business and the applicable Policy Documentation form the agreement upon which we intend to rely.

By completing your Kit Start policy application, you are confirming you have read and agree that the following statements below are correct:

  • I understand the content of this completed application form, and I declare that the information given is to the best of my knowledge and belief correct and complete
  • I understand that if any of the information provided by me changes after the policy has started and during the period of the policy that I must provide Forces Mutual with details
  • I am also aware that if the information provided by me is not complete and accurate that my policy may be cancelled or treated as if they never existed and as a result the insurer may refuse to pay all or part of any claim, or the insurer may revise the premium, and/or change any excess and/or the extent of cover
  • I am a serving member of HM Forces, or civilian staff of HM Forces or with prior approval a member of army reserve, contractor employed by HM Forces, or an employee of an affinity partner of HM Forces
  • I understand that if I cease to be employed by HM Forces, equivalent MoD or affiliated organisation then I must inform Forces Mutual as the policy would no longer be valid
  • I live in single service living accommodation
  • I am aged 16 years or over and under the age of 80 years
  • I confirm I have read the insurance policy document and Terms of Business
