Throughout the application journey we will provide you with key information (Policy Document, Insurance Product Information Document (IPID)) about our Kit and Personal Possessions Insurance product, electronically.

You can choose whether you'd like to receive your policy documents by paper or email in the application.

Our application tool can help you work out your Kit and Personal Possessions Insurance needs and will be based on the information you provide. You'll be able to tailor your cover through completing the application. We will not give you a personal recommendation and this should not be considered as advice.

Kit and Personal Possessions

This section is providing cover for your Service uniform, clothing and equipment which is issued to you on a permanent or temporary basis, or purchased by you for your sole use.

It also covers your items of a personal nature such as clothing and electronic devices designed to be worn or carried by you worth less than £1500, and jewellery worth less than £3000.

Contents Insurance

Contents includes household goods, valuables and personal property such as furniture and domestic appliances located within the home.

This definition excludes temporary issued kit, issued kit, and personal possessions.

To take out this policy online, it is a condition of the insurer’s liability under this policy that you (the definition of ‘you’ includes your domestic partner and members of your family that permanently reside with you) declare the following:

  • Your home is of standard construction e.g. built of brick, stone or concrete and roofed with tiles, asphalt, metal or concrete
  • You have not had any incidents in the last three years that resulted in damage to property, items being stolen or injury to yourself (regardless of blame and whether reported to an insurer)
  • You do not have any unspent convictions or prosecutions pending (other than motoring offences)
  • You have not been refused insurance or had terms imposed in respect of Kit, Personal Possessions and/or contents insurance

  • I/We understand the content of this completed online application form and wish to proceed to buy a policy;
  • I/We confirm that the information provided is correct to the best of my/our knowledge and understanding;
  • I/We agree that if the information provided by me/us should change after I/we have purchased the policy and during the period of the policy, that I will let Forces Mutual know. (Changes include change of address and cover level);
  • I/We am/are also aware that if the information provided by me/us is not complete and accurate that my/our policy may be cancelled or treated as if they never existed and as a result the insurer may refuse to pay all or part of any claim, or the insurer may revise the premium, and/or change any excess and/or the extent of cover;
